Position Summary
OPEX Corporation is currently looking for a full-time Tool Crib Attendant to work in our 180,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Pennsauken NJ. This position requires purchasing, order entry, order expediting, receiving shipments, inventory control and general stock room management. The ideal candidate will need technical knowledge of cutting tools and abrasives, be organized, detail oriented, have good follow-thru and have the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
The Tool Crib Attendant is part of the tool room team and will be responsible for preparing tooling setups, certifying, and delivering all tools to the production work centers for all shifts. In addition, this person orders, receives, stores, and issues all hand tools, machine tools, materials, fixtures, measuring devices, and/or related equipment in support to all manufacturing operations. This position is also responsible for generating and maintaining an accurate inventory of all purchased and manufactured items within the tool room.
Manage tooling inventory including the maintenance of all cutting tools, tool holders and associated product. Issue tooling to the shop floor. Identify tool misuse / damage and report concerns to management. Process tooling orders through multiple vendors and manage outsource requirements. Provide support with general shop maintenance when necessary.
Essential Responsibilities/Qualifications
Maintain minimum quantities of commonly used tools and equipment. Receive, properly/securely store, and issue hand tools, machine tools, dies, and other materials and/or equipment in a production environment
Maintains and tracks an overall tooling budget
Issues tools, supplies and equipment to workers and maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned
Responsible to ensure accurate inventory by reviewing inventory summaries and details. Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment
Inspect and measure tools and equipment for defects and material wear, manually or by using the proper measuring equipment
Marks and identifies tools and equipment
Verifies all tools, gages and fixtures; Ensures that measuring devices are periodically calibrated
Monitors tooling usage and suggests cost effective alternatives
Supervise all outsource regrind requirements as necessary
Conduct preventive maintenance on the tools and equipment; Cleans, oils, and performs minor repairs on equipment; disposes of surplus or obsolete equipment
General inventory skills
Knowledge of tooling for CNC machines and other equipment used in a manufacturing setting or machine shop work experience with CNC machines and related operations preferred.
Physical/Work Environments
Worker will be working in a machine shop setting
Ability to maneuver a job site, including small spaces in around our equipment
Sitting and standing for an extended period of time
Worker must be able to lift 50 pounds
Squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching overhead, reaching forward will occur while on the job
