1. Post Summary
Headquarters Allied Joint Force Command Naples is a Joint Headquarters, operating at the Operational Level, capable of executing effective command and control over assigned forces in order to achieve Operational effects in an assigned Joint Operating Area. As a Joint Force Command the relationships with other NATO Command Structure and NATO Force Structure Component Command Headquarters will change between baseline activities, crisis and conflict. It also provides Joint competencies to assigned NATO Force Structure Headquarters tasked to deploy as Joint Task Force Headquarters
The Management Directorate integrates, coordinates and implements services and activities to support, facilitate and contribute to the full JF HQ mission spectrum.
The Integrated Advisory Team (IAT) is responsible for management and business continuity planning for the JF HQ in support of the assigned mission. It supports the Chief of Staff (COS) and principals in the execution of their management responsibilities and is responsible for identifying quality improvements of HQ processes and outputs.
The incumbent enables the HQ leadership to conduct management planning in order to prioritize major tasks effectively and manage resources efficiently while keeping staff officers informed and focused on accomplishing the agreed missions. Yet it serves as Business Continuity (BC) Staff Officer assisting JFCNP BC Programme Manager with initiating and facilitating the BC planning process. The incumbent will also develop and conduct BC planning, training and validation and facilitate the ongoing conduct of JFCNP Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Risk Analysis. Will liaise with NATO Headquarters’ Business Continuity Planning (BCP) Management and Programme Office as well as other ACO BC Planners on policy development of activities, arrange, and support ACO-wide coordination and collaboration to achieve Resilience Management goals and objectives in a timely manner.

2. DUTIES
The incumbent's duties are:
- Assist in the analysis and identification of risks and issues in support of JFCNP’s risk management framework in respect to BC.
- Derive BC scenarios from conducted risk analysis and threat assessments.
- Liaise with other JFCNP Directorates and Divisions in support of the OPS led operational resilience.
- Assist BC Programme Managers with initiating and facilitating JFCNP’s BC planning process.
- Assist in providing BC Programme Management direction and guidance.
- Develop Business Impact and Risk Analysis and reports in support of the implementation of JFCNP BC Plan.
- Develop and conduct BC BIA staff training.
- Assist JFCNP Directorates/Divisions/Offices in determining critical outputs, services and support functions.
- Coordinate with the Business Continuity Management (BCM) Programme Manager to continuously review JFCNP BC Plan.
- Provide advice and guidance in the exercising and testing of JFCNP BC Plan.
- Provide BC Plan and documentation review.
- Finalize and distribute the BC Plan.
The employee may be required to perform a similar range of duties elsewhere within the organisation at the same grade without there being any change to the contract
The work is normally performed in a Normal NATO office working environment.

3. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
University Degree and 2 years function related experience, or Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 4 years post related experience.
At least 5 years of experience in large organizations,
In depth knowledge of BCP management and governance frameworks, BCP best practices and protocols, and operational risk management;
Good knowledge of European regulations related to BCP
Excellent interpersonal, negotiating and communication skills.
Competent with off-the-shelf analytical tools and software (e.g. MS Excel, Work, Outlook and PowerPoint).
Must have an English Standard Language Proficiency level in Listening Speaking, Reading, and Writing (SLP 3333 based on NATO standards).
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
Thorough understanding of the NATO HQ, Command Structure or similar international or military environment and related business processes and demonstrate the capability to work effectively within this environment.
Knowledge of Host Nation regulations related to BCP
Knowledge of Host Nation Language.

4. POSITION AND CANDIDATE PROFILE
Personal attributes
Inter-personal skills highlight the type of personal and professional communications capabilities that the Staff Officer needs daily in a military headquarters. Much of the output depends on the ability to work with staff officers to acquire an understanding of problems and situations and develop creative solutions for the staff for implementation. Must understand the staff, its function and the nature of the military operations being conducted. Furthermore, needs to be an effective communicator of results, confident in dealing with very senior officers. Able to brief results succinctly and write effectively. Needs to understand the modern concept of military operations, covering the spectrum from peace support, crisis, to conflict. Must have a sound scientific background as well as an inquisitive mind to come up with creative solutions to vexing problems. Works well under pressure and can cope effectively in a demanding multinational operational military headquarters. Is poised, tactful, cheerful and adaptable.
Professional contacts
Works in close co-ordination with the CG, AJHQ staff, other NATO Headquarters and Agencies as well as senior national and international technical experts and scientists in a variety of business continuity related topics. Executes duties and functions requiring frequent internal and external high-level contacts including co-ordination and negotiation with senior civilian and military host nation authorities. Routinely interacts with senior NATO authorities and external military.
Contribution to the objectives
Consistently supports and contributes to JFC HQs mission effectiveness and efficiency with timely and relevant advice to the CG on Business Continuity and any related issues. Constantly monitors developments in business continuity analysis and research and advises on their application to the JFC’s current and future military context determined by operations and military objectives assigned to COM AJHQ.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Dependent on requirements may be required to direct and supervise the work priorities of one or more HQ multifunctional teams.
5. CONTRACT
The selected candidate will be offered a one year temporary contract of employment.
The basic entry-level monthly salary for a NATO Grade G15 in Italy is Euro 5,725.22 which is not exempt from national taxation.
