Heavy Equipment Operator IrnMassachusetts Water Resources Authorityrn###LOCATION###rnThe MWRA is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator I to operate heavy equipment and vehicles.
The work includes operating a variety of heavy equipment such as, but not limited to, backhoe, front-end loader, cranes, tractor cab and trailers, excavators, pumps, generators, and pneumatic tools; operating equipment for excavations for valve replacement, pipeline installation, leak repair, and other miscellaneous excavations; installing trench boxes, mechanical shoring systems, and other support systems for the safety of excavations and assisting mechanics in the maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles and equipment as needed.rnThe position requires a high school education or equivalent, considerable knowledge of the methods and techniques used in the maintenance and safe operation of a wide variety of heavy and/or specialized maintenance and construction equipment and vehicles as acquired through a minimum of five (5) years' experience; and experience in urban utility excavation, construction, and installation; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
