Prospect Data Specialist – Help Drive Fundraising Success!
Are you a data enthusiast who loves turning information into action? The UND Alumni Association & Foundation is looking for a Prospect Data Specialist to manage and enhance our donor and alumni data within Salesforce ascend.
In this vital role, you’ll ensure data accuracy, uncover valuable insights, and help fuel our fundraising strategies. You’ll work closely with campus partners, development teams, and the operations staff to keep prospect data current, actionable, and strategic.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Prospect Data Specialist focuses on managing and enhancing prospect-related data within the Salesforce ascend platform. This position ensures data accuracy, consistency, and usability to support the organization’s fundraising and prospecting initiatives. The Prospect Data Specialist will creatively approach challenges, maintain a keen eye for detail, and collaborate with stakeholders to optimize prospect data and insights.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Data Entry and Management
Manage alumni and donor records promptly and accurately, focusing on prospect-related information such as:
prospect employment information utilizing LiveAlumni,
prospect wealth data utilizing iWave,
and constituent biographical updates including new addresses, marriage and deceasing.
Coordinate data management in connection with the Corporate/Foundation Relations (CFR) program lead. Including creating and updating records and relationships.
Execute data imports and exports related to prospect data, ensuring proper preparation and mapping.
Connect with campus partners and departments to gather and input essential data into the CRM.
Troubleshoot data-related issues and communicate issues within the operations team.
Data Reporting and Innovation
Work with the Business Intelligence Developer to generate actionable prospect reports to support development and fundraising teams.
Collaborate on delivering insights that inform donor strategies.
Use creativity to analyze and present data in ways that drive prospecting success.
Collaboration and Relationship Building
Work with Director of Operations to enhance prospect data processes.
Work with Prospect Management & Research team to efficiently achieve prospecting goals and needs.
Act as a knowledgeable resource for inquiries related to prospect data best practices.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is preferred, but not required; equivalent work experience will be considered.
Experience: Successful candidates should have demonstrated experience working with data, with familiarity in using data tools and reporting software being a strong advantage. Experience in nonprofit, higher education, or comparable environments is desirable but not mandatory.
PHYSICAL & COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS
Ability to operate computers, telephones, and other standard office equipment. Ability to focus and complete work in a timely manner. Ability to travel independently via car and air. Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, squat, and lift or move objects up to 10 pounds.
