Come join our growing team! We are hiring a Data Center Engineer to assist in designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the physical and virtual infrastructure of data centers. The Data Center Engineer will work with servers, storage, network, security, and cloud technologies to ensure optimal performance, availability and scalability of data center resources. The successful hire will also collaborate with other team members, vendors, and clients to provide technical support and guidance on data center projects and issues.
*This role is open to candidates living in the New England area as it may involve consistent on-site client visits*
Some responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Diagnose and Troubleshoot Virtualization, Storage arrays, and networking (L2)
Experience with storage connectivity via zoning and iSCSI
Configure servers (Win/Linux) and troubleshooting Windows and Linux servers
Install and configure Hyper Converged Products like VxRail, Cisco HX and Nutanix
Interface directly with clients to implement solutions
Create supporting documentation, help manuals and how-to guides
Building and maintaining ESXi hosts, maintaining Network Infrastructure
Providing technical support to our clients
Willingness to travel to client sites, data center locations, our office or other sites as needed
All other duties as assigned
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts in a simple and straightforward manner
Expertise with block level and file level storage protocols, SAN switching, and enterprise storage arrays and replication technologies
Expertise with VMware vSphere, PowerCLI, and/or vSphere SDKs
Expertise with VMware Horizon
Expertise in VDI Management
Hands on experience with AWS and Azure services and configurations
Experience with VMware ESX, Unix Servers and MS Hyper-V
Experience with Microsoft Windows Servers, Unix Servers & Desktops and all common server and workstation applications
Experience deploying VMware integration and extension services components.
Experience with storage solutions experience (Dell EMC, Pure, NetApp, VMware, Nutanix)
Experience with Hyper Converged Products like VxRail, Cisco HX and Nutanix
Ability to independently troubleshoot technical problems by analyzing the problem and applying a methodology to resolve the problem.
Knowledge and skills in datacenter technologies, such as servers, storage, network, security, and cloud
Proficient in datacenter installation, configuration, management, and troubleshooting
Familiar with datacenter standards, regulations, and best practices
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience and Education:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a datacenter and cloud environment
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field
Certificates in data center technologies such as Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, or AWS preferred
Experience working with diverse networking environments such as Dell and HP
Prior experience working in Professional Services for an IT Consulting company
