Import Operations Specialist

Respected, mature freight forwarder is immediately hiring an operations professional to process import project cargo into the US from beginning to end.

Main Responsibilities:

Provide quotes, routes, and other information as requested by clients or overseas agents.

Review and compare all documents for accuracy.

Track ETA and keep all parties updated.

Work with Customs broker for clearance and to resolve exams, holds, or other issues.

Communicate with clients, ocean carriers, airlines, vendors, agents, truckers, warehouses, and all others to expedite release and delivery.

Act promptly to avoid/minimize storage charges.

Coordinate pickup and delivery of cargo to final destination.

Address problems/issues in a timely manner.

Record all financial transactions per file, ensuring profitability.

Billing, invoicing, and correcting discrepancies.

Main Requirements:

At least 7 years experience in freight forwarding import operations, preferably hands-on with project cargo.

Current knowledge of regulations and documentation.

Proficiency with CargoWise preferred.

Effective communication and people skills.

Proactive, resourceful, problem-solver.

Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Understanding of export operations a plus.
