Z/OS Systems Programmer

Job Description

Hansen Talent Group is seeking a z/OS Systems Programmer join a large, growing enterprise team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with z/OS installs and configurations as well as Mainframe storage devices. This is not an application development position, but will be working with the z/OS infrastructure and operating systems.

The z/OS Systems Programmer will be responsible for the day to day operations, supporting the z/OS system.

Duties:

Coordinate installs and testing of z/OS systems software. Schedule system downtime as needed to minimize user impact.

Updating JCL, monitoring system logs via SDFS.

Preparation for disaster recovery exercises to include several weekly meetings. During the recoveries requires to recovery the z/OS and other applications as outlined in runbook.

Review customer requests, security patches, and audit requirements for system changes and determine how to handle the request while maintaining an adequate/appropriate overall systems infrastructure.

Managing hardware/software support licenses to include submitting purchase requisitions.
