Manager Information and Technology Systems
Position Overview:
The Information Technology Systems Manager at Fuel Tech Inc. is responsible for providing both strategic vision and operational leadership for IT infrastructure at multiple office sites and its field-based employees. This role involves planning, developing, documenting and supervising of IT systems and processes to establish and sustain a technology framework that supports FTI strategic goals and complies with federal, state, and industry standards. This is a working management role. You and your team will ensure that technology systems are secure, reliable, and responsive to the current and future needs of FTI. Collaborating closely with Senior Leadership, the Manager also plays a vital role in developing technology policies and strategies that align with FTI company mission, vision and values.
Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, documents, implements and manages an organization's information technology infrastructure, including computer application systems, computer and communication systems, network and related systems.
Establishes and maintains information technology policies, procedures and standards.
Manages all aspects of hardware and software inventory and procurement, including audits to ensure hardware and software comply with standards, policies and configuration guidelines
Selects and negotiates with vendors for products/licenses, pricing and services
Monitors information technology infrastructure and related system operations and assesses compliance and potential risks.
Develops and monitors analytical and reporting tools and recommendations for enhancements to the information technology infrastructure and its supporting hardware and software.
Implements and monitors backup and recovery procedures.
Evaluates employee training requirements for current and new IT solutions, develops appropriate training materials, and provides staff training.
Researches and evaluates new technology, techniques, threats and industry best practices to optimize efficiency and usability and minimize vulnerabilities.
Recruit, manage, train, develop and evaluate information technology staff.
Firewall management and maintenance
Prepares and oversees the department budget.
May assist staff with diagnosing and solving computer equipment problems at the corporate office, satellite offices, and field employee site locations and home office.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Experience working in Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), Azure, MS Exchange, and SQL.
Mac OS experience
Experience with virtual network systems such as ESX/VMware and Citrix
Solid understanding and experience working with cybersecurity, threat intelligence and cyberattack response planning such as CloudStrike
Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
Strong applied knowledge of IT security protocols and regulatory compliance standards
Expertise in building and managing secure IT infrastructures and services.
Demonstrated ability to align IT strategies with organizational goals and collaborate across departments to drive efficiency.
Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects
Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills
Visionary thinking and adaptability to technological advancements.
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
Experience with document controls software such as SharePoint
Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance auditing experience
Experience with Epicor ERP software
Experience supporting Cisco VoIP and infrastructure
Experience with Linux operating systems
Cisco Meraki device and network experience
Nimble SAN – Storage Area Network configuration experience
Experience with EU General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR
Education and Experience:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Master Degree Preferred)
Minimum 10 years of experience working in IT operations
Minimum four years’ experience overseeing IT teams, systems, and projects
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Travel Requirements:
Less than 10%
