Universal Plastics Middlefield currently has an immediate opening for a CNC Programmer and Operator.
WORK HOURS:
Monday through Friday 6:00am - 2:00pm
About Universal Plastics:
Universal Plastics specializes in plastic injection molding, including gas assist and structural foam, for customers mostly in the medical, laboratory and diagnostic markets. We supply high quality, large plastic parts with complex designs and high cosmetic requirements. We have presses ranging from 85T -1,500T. This position is responsible for setting up, programming, and running the CNC Machine for the production of injection molded plastic parts.
Responsibilities of a CNC Programmer Operator
Setup, program, and run a Thermwood CNC Router for the production of injection molded plastic parts.
Write programs for the CNC machine to enhance production.
Use milling machines, sonic welders, and CNC machines to build fixtures, assemble parts, and fix structures in the facility.
Setup and machine parts as required by the customer in the production of their parts.
Repair defective parts from the Molding Department to meet customer requirements.
Order necessary components for sonic welders and other equipment.
Carpenter / woodworking tasks to repair various structures where needed in the facility.
Assist all departments with machine setups, woodworking, carpentry, and other tasks as required.
Maintains a clean and orderly workstation.
Observes all safety regulations and practices.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by manager.
Stands, walks and uses hands for 8 to 10 hours per day
Candidate Requirements:
2-5 Years of Plastics experience preferred.
Knowledge and application of injection molding principles encouraged.
Ability to work well under minimal supervision; possess strong self-motivational skills.
Excellent decision-making skills to ensure we meet production demands.
Must be effective and efficient while performing all tasks to ensure production needs are met.
Possess a flexible mindset as jobs and tasks change quickly.
Detail oriented.
High School Diploma with good written and oral communication skills and arithmetic skills.
Ability to handle up to 20-pounds.
