Yard Associate

Job Description

Role: Yard Team Member

Responsibilities: Handles Inbound and Outbound freight to ensure delivery is done “right the first time”.

Prepares customer orders from pick lists (homeowners, masons, and builders) for product pick-up and delivery

Vendor deliveries and inbound freight are unloaded, packing slips are checked by verifying quantity, and no damaged product is received (or is noted & stocked)

Keeping yard and work areas clean and areas organized for efficient use of time

Repairs pallets, general maintenance of buildings, overhead doors, etc.

Responsible for Hi/Lo equipment, lights, forks, tires, oil, grease, and each week to keep in good working order, and communicate with the mechanic on repair needs

Follow the safety manual for the team and customers

Expectations: Keeps yard and products updated

Works to ensure orders are done “right the first time” / no return visits for homeowners, outbound deliveries, and shop orders.

Product placement done carefully, for easy in and out. Straight lines.

Works well with other team members

Follows the safety process to ensure team members are following correct protocols.

Represents the company at the highest level of professionalism with customers

Ability to use a smartphone or computer to bring up inventory SKU’s for receiving & shipping other resources to help ensure proper installation

Ensures stock quantities are kept in good supply & communicates to appropriate personnel

Must be able to lift 80lbs and follow proper safe lifting techniques
