Product Consultant / Architectural Specifier

Job Description

DEA Specialties has been the premier specialty subcontractor in the region for over 40 years. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Product Consultant / Architectural Specifier to work closely with our sales team, architects, contractors and building owners to specify and promote our products for use in various construction projects. Your primary goal will be to increase our market share and drive growth through effective product specification and promotion.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain relationships with architects, designers and contractors to promote our products.

Conduct product presentations, lunch-and-learns, and other events to showcase our products and build brand awareness.

Collaborate with architects and designers to specify our products in upcoming projects.

Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activity, and new product development to maintain a competitive edge.

Work closely with our estimators / project managers to identify new opportunities and develop strategic plans to pursue them.

Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of our products, including their features, benefits, and applications.

Assist in the preparation of specifications, and other technical documents to support project bids and awards.

Participate in industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our products and build key relationships with decision makers.

Requirements:

Four-year degree from an accredited university in a beneficially related field.

Excellent communication skills, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to travel occasionally for industry events, conferences, and client meetings.

Preferred Qualifications:

LEED AP or other industry specific certifications.

Experience with CSI Master Format and other specification writing guidelines.

Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) and other digital construction technologies.

Strong network of contacts in the architecture and design community.
