Electrical Foreman, Regional Construction
Description
Lead Solar (AC, DC & mechanical) Installer and direct supervisor for the Solar Installation Team, within the Regional Construction department. Directly responsible for a variety of field service functions including, but not limited to Job site safety, crew safety, layout, array installation, QA/QC, commissioning, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying solar PV systems. Key related components and systems include inverters, PV module, racking, wire management, transformers, switchgear, trackers, communication devices, metering systems in both AC and DC architectures.
Job Responsibilities
Site safety management.
Ensure safety plans are executed by all site staff and subcontractors.
Works with Project Supervisor to maintain safety initiatives.
Run daily and weekly site safety meetings and reporting.
Competent in electrical and mechanical solar installation disciplines
Directly responsible for the supervision of the solar installation team to ensure high quality, and timely performance of all project installation deliverables Maintain and manage project schedules in conjunction with the project’s PM, Project Engineer and Director of Electrical Services.
Manage day ahead and week ahead plans.
Task Scheduling
Manpower Scheduling
Materials and Logistics Scheduling
Identifies technical, logistical and manpower shortfalls and develop corrective action plans.
Perform QA/QC tasks and reporting.
Manage and maintain accurate project reporting and records within the Procore platform.
Deliver all services construction tasks to and including Pre-Commissioning and demobilization of installed arrays.
Participate in preconstruction tasks, meetings and reporting.
Manage mobilization tasks and reporting
Manage the Installation Team task for Pre-Commissioning.
Manage and maintain the Pre-Commissioning documentation reporting.
Punctual, (7am > 3:30pm) at each Regional Construction site within 200 miles of HQ.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the Regional Construction Team, greater VEP teams and associated meetings.
Requirements
Formal electrical training or 5+ years of equivalent experience in 480V service entrance and distribution equipment installation and or commercial solar array installation.
Strong knowledge and understanding of NEC Codes.
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Technical knowledge of solar.
Strong understanding of OSHA safety requirements including LOTO, Arc Flash, JSA, etc.
Ability to comprehend shop drawings and construction drawing sets from 30% to IFCs.
Strong work ethic, ability to keep a positive attitude, and be a self-starter.
Competent in the MS Suite platform and Construction Management (Procore) platforms
Capable of managing multiple tasks and adapting to change easily.
Demonstrate safe work practices and quality orientation.
Able to work in a team environment or alone with little to no supervision.
Ability to analyze and resolve problems independently.
Valid State Drivers’ License
Willingness to travel: required
Must be able to travel to job sites in the Northeast, and sometimes nationally. License/ Certification:
Driver’s License, Required
OSHA 30, required (available through h VEP)
Aerial Lift, Forklift and Telehandler (available through h VEP)
