Your Opportunity to Lead Accounting at Elliott

Elliott Equipment Company is looking for a detail-oriented and process-driven Senior Accountant/Asst Controller to help strengthen our financial operations as we grow. This is a high-impact position with primary responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of our trial balance, maintaining integrity across the general ledger, and creating sustainable processes that support timely, consistent accounting treatment across all business functions.

You will work closely with leadership, operations, and cross-functional teams to ensure that our financial records reflect the performance and complexity of our manufacturing business. What You’ll Do

General Ledger & Trial Balance Accuracy

Own the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency

Maintain an accurate and up-to-date trial balance; proactively investigate and resolve variances using system tools and reports

Ensure timely and proper accounting treatment of all transactions, including revenue, COGS, inventory, capital expenditures, and intercompany activity

Utilize ERP and accounting software to monitor and maintain proper account mapping, classifications, and transaction flows

Financial Reporting & Controls

Prepare internal financial statements and supporting schedules for leadership and external stakeholders, leveraging system reports and automation where possible

Assist with budget vs. actual analysis, variance commentary, and trend identification using data tools and dashboards

Document and enhance accounting policies and internal controls to support audit readiness, GAAP compliance, and system-integrated workflows

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with purchasing, operations, and warehouse personnel to ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions through shared systems and data inputs

Collaborate on ERP data integrity and drive improvements in system workflows between departments

Support the CFO special projects, audit preparation, and technology-driven process upgrades

Process Improvement & Scalability

Design and implement sustainable accounting processes that scale with business growth

Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and shorten the monthly close timeline

Leverage technology and automation to improve accuracy, reduce manual work, and enhance efficiency across accounting workflows

Support implementation and optimization of accounting systems, ERP modules, and reporting tools to better support business needs

The Problems You’ll Solve

First 30 Days

Get up to speed on Elliott’s financial systems, reporting tools, and ERP

Understand our trial balance structure, reporting cadence, and close process

Begin reviewing account reconciliations and identify opportunities for standardization or cleanup

First 90 Days

Take ownership of monthly close responsibilities and help improve accuracy and timing

Begin documenting core accounting processes and areas for improvement

Provide clean, reliable financials for internal stakeholders and begin assisting with forecasting and analysis

First 6 Months

Lead implementation of process improvements across the accounting function

Support audit readiness and internal control documentation

Become a go-to resource for accurate, timely financial data that supports operational and strategic decisions

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

3+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting

Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and cost accounting principles

Hands-on experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills

Experience with or exposure to Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) is a plus

Detail-oriented, with a passion for accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement

Proactive and curious—willing to dive into the details while also thinking about the big picture

Strong communication and collaboration skills—able to work across teams and support decision-making
