Summary
Responsible for ensuring that the technical aspects of engineering construction, maintenance, and modification projects are executed in full conformance with the approved project documents by monitoring facility design, facility maintenance, and construction activities. Manage technical solutions for construction and design activities, overseeing the structural analysis of components and buildings, and ensuring compliance with the project's quality assurance program. Provide support during phases of project execution from planning to closeout, ensuring that designs meet constructability requirements and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Apply engineering principles, codes and standards, and best practices to perform and review structural analysis calculations for civil systems, structures, and components.
Provide ownership responsibility and accountability when engaging with multi-disciplinary teams to support all aspects of technical project execution, including project planning, estimates, proposal development, and schedule development.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and functional departments to maintain project priorities and ensure successful outcomes.
Participate in construction support activities such as shop drawing reviews, submittal reviews, pay estimate reviews, change order reviews, request for information (RFI) responses, field observations, and start-up and commissioning.
Assist with contractor selection during the bid phase, and track project schedules and updates.
Collaborate with teams on construction licensing, siting, and environmental matters, supporting the preparation of reports and white papers.
Lead project meetings, communicate engineering solutions clearly, and manage project logs, ensuring all construction records, as-built drawings, and operation and maintenance manuals are submitted per project requirements.
Assist with field verifications oversight of construction work to ensure contractors conform to project requirements.
Support the resolution of technical issues by identifying critical work activities and tracking long-lead items.
Lead project closeout activities and promote a culture of safety.
Provide project controls support to project teams.
Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, ensuring accurate timelines and resource allocation.
Support program/project leadership in collecting progress and performance updates and updating schedules to reflect actual progress and changes.
Track and monitor project budgets, expenses, and financial forecasts for assigned program/projects.
Prepare cost reports and financial analyses.
Help identify project risks and support the development of mitigation strategies.
Maintain risk registers and ensure timely updates.
Create and distribute project status reports and performance dashboards to program/project leadership.
Support the development of project metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track progress and performance.
Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
Typically, five plus years’ experience in engineering, project management or construction role.
Experience utilizing the industry-known best practices in at least one of the areas: Planning and scheduling; Cost management; Estimating; Change management and trends.
Experience with civil/structural design and a strong understanding of applicable engineering codes and standards.
Knowledge of construction planning and control methods, maintenance techniques, and construction principles.
Experience in reviewing and ensuring compliance with engineering design documents, drawings, and specifications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to lead and coordinate project teams effectively.
Proven ability to work independently or within a team on complex tasks.
Cognizant of zero accident safety initiatives.
Experience using project management software applications is preferred.
Professional licensure or certification is preferred.
