Job Overview
As an Electrical Engineer at Robinson, you will help to design, develop, and supervise the installation, proper startup, and function of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, or utility use. This position supports the design and production phases or electrical switch gear and power generation products.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of electricity and materials.
Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform electrical engineering tasks.
Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods, testing properties.
Direct and coordinates construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
Develop electrical products by studying customer requirements, researching, and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components, soliciting observations from operators.
Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests from manufacturing, customers, and vendors.
Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
Keeps equipment operational by following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures, requesting repair service.
Develop budgets, estimate labor, bills of materials, and construction costs.
Investigate customer complaints, determine the root cause and extent of the problem, and recommend remedial measures.
Maintains product database by writing computer programs, entering data.
Completes and reviews drawing packets used and created by the engineers and designers to document logic, point to point wiring and system interaction.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and being able to communicate effectively both verbally and through written documentation.
Assist sales and estimating with projects to enhance existing and develop new product development.
Interface with procurement and vendors in modification and approval of component parts and assemblies
Develop schedules, coordinate, and manage projects of all sizes with minimal supervision.
Travel may be required.
Other tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited school.
Five plus years of experience in relation to or equivalent to the position described above is a must.
Experience in using or a desire to learn required software, Auto Cad/SolidWorks, PDM is preferred, with the ability to do independent calculations.
Knowledge of applicable codes related to electrical engineering, including NEC standards, control logic and power generation/protection.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have knowledge of practical applications of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience with LV/MV switchgears and or diesel genset applications, or equivalent commercial industrial electrical field, is a plus.
