Job Title: Power Electronics Engineer
Job Description
Design and develop best-in-class motor control systems for a variety of industries and applications, including testing of electric vehicle propulsion systems, maximizing oil production with artificial intelligence at the well, optimizing metal forming, dynamic automotive testing, and delivering precision control systems for a wide range of applications in the converting industry. As a Systems Design Engineer, you will understand the type of system the customer needs and determine from a high level what components, circuits, motor controls, power electronics, etc. are needed to give the customer the power they need for their application. These systems can operate with horsepower in the thousands and voltages up to 460 or 720 volts.
Responsibilities
Design motor control and test system solutions, including creation of Power Distribution Diagrams, Network Distribution Diagrams, and Electrical schematics.
Develop electrical and mechanical drawing packages for industrial motor control and battery testing/simulation systems optimized for size and ease of manufacturing.
Verify conformance of components and systems to customer specifications.
Complete load, voltage, amperage, and heat calculations to ensure proper design.
Create system bill of materials.
Work with Purchasing and Vendors to evaluate alternate components.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in power electronics.
Experience in electrical engineering.
Ability to design and test motor control systems.
Competence in performing high-level load, voltage, power, and amperage calculations.
Experience with design of motor control and test systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
BSEE or Engineering Degree in Electrical Field.
3+ years of experience specifying components and systems used in electrical designs for applications involving power electronics and/or voltages up to 460 or higher.
Work Environment
The role offers some flexibility to work remotely 2-3 days per week. Depending on project needs, the candidate may be required onsite 5 days a week. The work involves a suite of drives on a test system, driving motors in automotive plants such as Chrysler or GM, and ensuring sufficient power output and handling for test applications.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/yr.

Incentive Plan = In this role you will qualify for participation in the All Hands Incentive Plan that will provide you with a discretionary bonus opportunity up to 5% of your annual base salary, prorated based on your hire date.
