A day as a Pastry Jr Sous Chef / Baker:
Support in producing and creating high-end pastry products served daily to hundreds of international airline guests
Organize production procedures and meet all deadlines
Ensure all assigned responsibilities are completed by the end of the shift
Pastry preparation and production (cutting, peeling, mixing, and assembling food items)
Plating and packaging food
Read, understand and follow menu specifications
Order food and dishes for production
Support with shift schedules (when needed)
Comply with all hygiene, quality, food and safety regulations and responsible for ensuring all staff adhere to it as well (example, labelling foods as needed, ensuring kitchen areas and workstation are kept clean and tidy, and more)
Assist Pastry Chefs and Cooks with different tasks in the kitchen as needed
Cover for Head of Pastry when needed, ensuring production and operations run smoothly as well as sending end of shift report
Support airline presentations as needed (example, support with production of additional products to present to airline clients, and more)
Support during menu changes/cycle changes as needed (example, familiarize yourself with new menus and recipes, train staff on new products, ensure smooth transition regarding the production of new products, and more)
