Job Description Summary:
Learns the functions of polysomnography technology and procedures on patients with suspected injury or disease resulting in sleep disorders under direct supervision and according to facility policies and procedures. Eligible for consideration for promotion after one year of work experience and demonstration of competence in core duties and responsibilities.

Essential Functions:
Learns and applies the techniques and functions of a polysomnography technologist. Learns basic anatomy and physiology as it applies to polysomnography technology.
Provides appropriate patient care and communication, explaining procedures and documenting patient’s status and clinical history.
Performs administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling procedures, facilitating equipment and patient transportation, maintaining departmental records, processing patient charge information, and attending to front office responsibilities.
Maintains supply inventory, ordering supplies and keeping equipment calibrated and clean.
Participates in conferences, technical meetings, and other educational activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Education Requirement:
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences or related field, preferred.

Current CPR certification, required.
