TimberQuest™ is an innovative mass timber platform for sustainable, cost-effective education facilities. Pre-approved by the California Division of the State Architect (DSA), Timber Quest delivers rapid-install, high-performance mass timber buildings customized for public and private K–14 schools. TimberQuest projects combine design excellence, operational efficiency, and environmental stewardship.
Role Summary: Design Coordinator at TimberQuest will play a critical role in project delivery, working closely with the design team, BIM modelers and factory to integrate the project design with the TimberQuest product solution. They directly manage the BIM team (outside firm) for deliverables, ensuring fabrication documents are accurate, complete and on time for production at the TimberQuest Factory. They will also closely collaborate with the design team for each project, in order to ensure that there is alignment between the permitted design and the fabrication and will play a key role in procuring materials for the factory.
Candidates must demonstrate experience in design coordination (Revit/BIM) and construction execution
Candidate work place will be primarily in Milpitas but include some remote and some travel to our Oakland or Sacramento office and Stockton Factory.
Key Responsibilities:
Continuous Improvement - Ability to find solutions and implement
Lead coordination meetings with design teams
Oversee BIM and Revit model integration and alignment with construction documents.
Carefully review design drawings and communicate with design team about modifications to align with TimberQuest system
Lead meetings with BIM team, manage communication and information flow with design team
Manage and track the BIM deliverables; review and ensure accuracy and completeness
Procure materials for the factory, particularly custom fabricated items
Coordinate with field installation team; collect feedback for process and product improvement
Serve as a liaison between factory, external design teams, installation team and suppliers.
Apply knowledge to facilitate constructability reviews and identify coordination issues early.
Maintain and ensure document control systems are accurate and up to date.
Champion quality control throughout the project design and production at the TimberQuest Factory.
Lead development of execution of Product and Process Documentation to further establish efficiency and understanding for our Clients, Design Teams and Contractor trade partners.
Leverage VDC, sustainability, and Lean construction practices in support of the TimberQuest Factory.
Build positive relationships with project stakeholders, promoting TimberQuest’ss culture and values.
Required Qualifications:
Prior experience with Revit modeling and BIM coordination required.
2–4 years of experience in construction and/or architectural design.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Understanding of DSA permitting process, building trades and MEP systems.

In accordance with California’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this position is $80k - $130k annually. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors including but not limited to skills, experience, education, and work location.
