Job Description

The Program Coordinator I serves as the Planning Section Chief for the Texas A&M Forest Service responses and is part of the agency's IMT Program within the Planning & Preparedness Department. They will work closely with AHIMT personnel, outside agency personnel, Field Operations Department, Dispatch, Emergency Operations Center, Aviation, Logistics and Finance. As able, they will serve as a mentor to trainee plans personnel.

Responsibilities:

-Serves as primary Planning Section Chief for TAMFS. Determines and institutes all related Standard Operating Procedures for Plans Section. Responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing levels with section.

-As needed, assists with training and mentoring plans personnel by instructing IMT classes, providing information and training on technologies or processes, and through on-the-job training on incidents or exercises.

-Explores and evaluated new technologies, practices and standards. Determines need for change to section procedures and communicates changes to all necessary personnel.

-Abides by all agency policies and procedures. Maintains appropriate tracking or vehicle use, inventory and agency credit cards. Submits required reports in a timely manner.

-Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions: This is an Emergency Response position and requires work to be completed outside of a Monday-Friday, 8-5 schedule. This position requires a significant amount of time on the computer and cell phone. This position will most often work in an Incident Command Post or Emergency Operations Center, but may require field work. Harsh or dangerous conditions may be encountered. Long hours, night shifts and weekend work will be required.

Education and Experience:

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education or experience.

Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree

Required Experience: Four (4) years' experience

Preferred Experience: Five (5) years' experience within Incident Management as a Unit Leader in Plans or higher

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Required Knowledge: Microsoft Word, Excel, TEAMS, PowerPoint

Preferred Knowledge: e-iSuites software, Google platforms, Survey 123 and IROC

Required Skills: Strong communication skills. Highly organized.

Required Abilities: Able to prioritize tasks. Multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses:

Required: Valid Drivers license.

Preferred: NWCG or NQS PSC3
