Automation Technician/Machinist Lead- Manufacturing
Principal Manufacturing is seeking an Automation Technician/Machinist Lead to join our team in Broadview, IL. As a leader in fineblanking, conventional stamping and plastic injection molding, Principal Manufacturing sets itself above the competition.
As a Team Lead, responsible for managing daily operations. This includes planning, assigning, and directing work; communication performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. To install, assemble, maintain, and replace automation systems throughout the production process. Troubleshoot component parts, including sensors and other vital technology. Machine/manufacture automation or gage components as necessary, per provided documentation or reverse engineering process. To Oversee and direct activities of team members within the automation department. Ensure production schedule is being met.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure the team adheres to production schedules and deadlines
Monitor automation standards and quality control measures.
Training new team members and ensuring that all team members are competent in their role.
Maintaining accurate records of automation data, including volume produced, material used, and any deviations from standard processes .
Enforcing strict safety guidelines and company standards
Serving as the main point of contact between the tool room manager and the rest of the departments. Responsible for scheduling jobs, defining the work for others and owning the on-time delivery of all the work that flows thought the department.
Assist in, assemble, maintain, and replace automation systems at key production or inspection systems.
Assist in troubleshooting non-functioning components including servos, sensors, and simple control components.
Required Skill/Knowledge:
Associate degree in mechanical engineering, robotics, closely related technical field or equivalent.
Responsible for following Lean Manufacturing Concepts.
Provide real-time information and reports to management.
Ability to encourage a positive work environment
Five years' experience as a Journeyman Machinist.
Computer knowledge
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
