Adjunct Faculty – Chemistry
Job Description
Westminster University is hiring for an adjunct faculty position that is open with the Department of Chemistry for the Fall semester of 2025 and the Spring semester of 2026.
One adjunct faculty is needed to teach CHEM 303: Organic Chemistry I in Fall 2025 and CHEM 304: Organic Chemistry II in Spring 2026. These courses are scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12-1:50 pm, though there may be some flexibility. This course uses the textbook Organic Chemistry by Wade and Simek. Each course will have approximately 16 students enrolled and is worth 4 credit hours. Compensation ranges from $3,220 to $3,936, depending on the instructor's degree level and teaching history.
These Organic Chemistry courses are mostly designed as process oriented guided inquiry learning (POGIL) courses utilizing a workbook for daily classroom activities, with weekly online homework assignments and reading assignments. Some lectures are required to expand upon topics in the POGIL workbook.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree in related field and discipline specific experience and/or a similar combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in related field. Teaching experience utilizing active learning in a related field.
