POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The project manager will lead and direct all project personnel. As the primary point of contact, the project manager will coordinate any project related issues with the DOE project manager. In addition, they will manage the project schedule, cost, and risk management, and ensure successful timely delivery of the project.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or Project Management
6+ years of experience
Extensive experience in large scale design and implementation projects
Masters in Computer Science or Project Management (desired)
Experience working with school systems or Department of Education (desired)
CERTIFICATIONS:
PMP (Project Management Professional)
CSM (Certified Scrum Master)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure the quality and acceptance of all project deliverables and report significant project developments with the DOE Project Manager
Create work plans that outline tasks, responsibilities, and risk mitigation strategies
Maintain staff continuity throughout the project
Oversee knowledge transfer activities ensuring DOE's comprehensive understanding of all project aspects including how to use the new system
Manage all project related documentation
Document meeting minutes and project discussions
Coordinate with all project teams to ensure project deadlines are met
SKILLS:
Proficiency in MS Project, Microsoft Teams, Azure DevOps (or similar project management tools)
Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
Strong leadership and decision making skills and the ability to lead cross functional teams
Extensive knowledge of the SDLC process and the Waterfall development methodology
Strong understanding of system modernization
