Position Overview:
The Family Specialist provides in-home counseling to individuals and families using a strength-based, attachment-focused approach. You will assess and develop treatment plans to improve individual and family functioning. This role involves working with 6 families at a time, providing both in-person and telehealth therapy. You will have a high degree of independence and must be self-motivated.
Core Responsibilities:
Assess and Treat: Diagnose individuals and develop treatment plans with supervisor guidance.
Provide Therapy: Offer in-person and telehealth therapy, focusing on individual and family support, including skill-building.
Manage Caseload: Work with 6 families per week, providing regular therapy sessions and follow-up care.
Crisis Management: Provide support during crises as needed.
Documentation: Complete session notes, assessments, and treatment plans on time.
Community Engagement: Build referral networks and engage with community partners.
Collaborate: Participate in team meetings and support other staff.
Confidentiality: Ensure client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards.
Working Conditions:
Location: Office at a local host church, with daily travel within a 20-mile radius. Minimum of 2 days per week at the local host church, with the remainder of the work week from home.
Schedule: 40-hour work week with flexible scheduling, including some evening hours.
Travel: Use personal car (mileage reimbursed). Occasional overnight travel for meetings.
Technology: Necessary technology is provided, including computers, video conferencing, and electronic note-taking systems.
Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field.
Licensing: Must be working toward an independent clinical license.
Experience: Prior experience working with youth and families.
Skills: Strong organizational skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Driver’s License: Valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance required.
