Job Description
Perform as the Subject Matter Expert and process engineering lead for manufacturing to achieve an advanced level of operational (manufacturing) excellence by improving/optimizing equipment and machines, production flows, processes, systems, and associate skillsets.
Work directly with Operations Manager as a (manufacturing) process engineering mentor and advisor with joint ownership of production performance. Work as a collaborative partner, coach, and technical leader to other department team members; production, quality, receiving, warehouse, supply chain, and maintenance teams.
Responsible for providing all process related technical leadership within a manufacturing facility to ensure products meet all requirements of reliability, quality and performance integrity in accordance with company, industry and customer specifications. Sr, Process Engineer will interface with other parts of the organization which include, QA, customer relations, new product development, process control and monitoring.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Supports Plant leadership team in employee engagement; cultivates an environment of safety, high performance, and ethical and legal compliance.
May supervisor a team of direct reports and be responsible for employee selection, development, mentoring, and performance management. Responsible for overall talent management and employee engagement; cultivates an environment of safety, high performance, and ethical and legal compliance; addresses employee relations issues
Provide technical support to operations and to the sales and marketing groups as needed.
Communicate with Key Customers on a regular basis to ensure that all One Step issues are dealt with in a manner that meets or exceeds customer expectations
Manage activities effectively with an emphasis on Quality, productivity and timing
Manage and report project feasibility (Scope, budget, timeline, resources, etc.)
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and all deliverables are met
Act as a technical liaison between engineering and the customer to determine the system requirements of all Amcor product lines
Provide unattended One Step mold and system start up as required in the operations
Transfer of all pertinent One Step qualification information to support system start up
Establish and maintain data resource information relative to packaging, machinery, and processes.
Must be committed to providing our customers a product that is safe and meets specifications, regulations and statutory requirements.
Oversees CAPEX and Continuous Improvement initiatives in partnership with Operations and Finance teams. Requirements:
BS in a relevant science or engineering discipline plus 5 years' experience in a manufacturing/quality/development environment or equivalent relevant experience in lieu of engineering degree.
Experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in Plastics engineering technology
Strong interpersonal and communication competencies
Ability to travel up to 10% of time as required. General Activities (non-comprehensive)
Define and control the production process including tooling and equipment
Identify areas for improvement in process yield, cost, and product quality
Assess and recommend technology to improve efficiency and/or safety
Define and defend (mfg.) activity/project objectives, scope, value, and timeline
Communicate manufacturing plans and processes to internal and external customers
Process data analytics for process monitoring, diagnostics, and optimization
Support major investigations as SME of equipment and process
Monitor manufacturing activity to ensure quality effectiveness and quality
Technical representative / lead for outside engineering contacts
Responsible for lean deployment activities
Compile, analyze, and interpret data related to lean projects
Initiate and support continuous process improvement efforts (for any department)Based on need, provide hands-on assistance
