Director of Engineering

Job Overview:

Search Solution Group is seeking a Director of Engineering on behalf of our client, a global leader in water-soluble films and related technologies. This role will be instrumental in shaping the future of the company's engineering operations across multiple global locations. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Product Supply, the Director will be responsible for leading high-impact engineering initiatives, optimizing manufacturing processes, and driving innovation and efficiency across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a global engineering team in alignment with organizational goals

Develop and implement strategic engineering roadmaps and best practices

Drive process improvements, innovation, and technical excellence across engineering functions

Collaborate with leadership to execute global product and technology strategies

Oversee the Process Engineering and Project Engineering groups

Provide engineering support for manufacturing, quality, and R&D departments

Manage capital projects, including budgeting, vendor negotiations, and timelines

Analyze engineering data and troubleshoot process issues

Develop and enforce engineering policies, procedures, and programs

Design and manage experiments, prototypes, and pilot initiatives to reduce risk

Lead hiring, performance development, and retention efforts within the engineering department

Monitor and report on engineering KPIs and project outcomes

Requirements Include:

Education:

B.S. in Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field Experience:

15+ years in engineering management within a manufacturing setting Skills:

Leadership and team development

Project management and budgeting

Process optimization and lean manufacturing

Contract negotiation and vendor management

Strong technical writing and communication

Certifications:

Professional Engineering certifications preferred Knowledge:

Expertise in process and project engineering

Familiarity with EHS, ISO standards, and risk assessments

Knowledge of statistical process control and experiment design

Ability to interpret technical drawings and financial data
