Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a Project Manager on behalf of our client, a leader in expert heavy civil preconstruction services. This role is essential in overseeing the successful execution of infrastructure projects, ensuring all components-from planning and budgeting to coordination and quality control-are aligned with client expectations and internal performance goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Determine and define the scope of work and deliverables by reviewing project plans, specifications, and shop drawings
Collaborate with owners, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure high-quality execution, resolve issues, and meet project deadlines
Communicate daily with superintendents and office staff to coordinate project activities, resource allocation, and staffing needs
Manage project budgets, monitor financial targets, and oversee timely and accurate invoicing, including subcontractor billings
Develop and maintain project schedules and track staffing and materials using project tracking tools
Lead project turnover meetings with estimators to review bids and ensure smooth handoffs and successful kickoffs
Oversee submittals to ensure they are reviewed, approved, and submitted on time
Manage project buyouts, including drafting and overseeing contracts and purchase orders for subcontractors
Issue and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) to resolve design ambiguities or omissions
Prepare and submit monthly payment applications to owners and resolve any billing-related disputes
Generate regular cost reports for management to monitor budget adherence
Ensure compliance with all permitting, regulatory approvals, and safety requirements
Fulfill additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Requirements include:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
Relevant field experience may be considered in place of formal education
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of project management experience in civil construction or a related field
Experience using B2W and ViewPoint software preferred
Skills:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate effectively
Certifications:
PMP certification is a plus but not required
OSHA or other safety certifications are beneficial
Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of civil construction project lifecycles, budgeting, scheduling, and reporting
Familiarity with contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and construction permitting processes
