Are you someone who enjoys helping others? Being a student success coach may be the right fit for you! Sydney Sloan, Assistant Director for Student Success, is seeking student success coaches to work with students in a 1:1 capacity to help benefit their academic success.

This position welcomes creativity in organizing and planning individual student success sessions, programming study halls, and completing various administrative functions. This position will assist with developing strong relationships with students through the academic coaching process.

Being a Student Success Coach is a great way to meet other students, develop your own success strategies, and professionally develop through multi-layered training opportunities. You will be able to work on campus with staff who understand your unique intersecting identities as a student and an employee. Examples of Duties

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director for Student Success, the Student Success Coach

will:

- Participate in a multi-day training

- Meet regularly with students in a coaching capacity, and coach them on the implementation of a wide range of success strategies

- Appropriately complete session summaries to help guide future sessions

- Assist with developing and improving the services, programs, and communication plans

housed in the Student Success Center (ex: creating and developing content for newsletter

series, social media, posters/handouts; editing training materials for future Student Success Coaches; and developing workshops with a focus on student success skills).

- Coaches must meet a programming requirement of one in-office workshop and one community program each semester

- Coaches will be asked to support the various programs offered through the Student Success Center

- Coaches will attend weekly staff meetings and biweekly one on ones with their supervisor

- General administrative and organizational tasks

Minimum Qualifications

- Current satisfactory academic status (as of Fall 24').

- Genuine interest in helping students get involved at the Student Success Center.

- Ability to communicate and connect students with diverse identities to a peer coach; both in one-to-one settings and group settings.

- Comfortable helping students navigate the online scheduler (openness to learning this

process)

- Strong ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.

- Organized and timely when it comes to work attendance and meeting deadlines.

- Reliable and Dependable

- Creative, self-starter, motivated, and willingness to learn.

- Applicants will need to be able to work 10 hours per week. There is some schedule flexibility available.

This is a student part-time position, 10-13 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications

Applicants who are strong multitaskers, self-sufficient, organized, effective communicators, and reliable will be an ideal fit for this position well.
