Position Summary

The Practical Nursing Administrator oversees the management and operation of a practical nursing program, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, state regulations, and institutional policies. This role includes curriculum development, faculty management, student engagement, and program evaluation to prepare students for careers as licensed practical nurses (LPNs).

Key Responsibilities

Program Administration

Develop and maintain the practical nursing curriculum in accordance with state board of nursing and accreditation standards.

Ensure program compliance with all regulatory, institutional, and accrediting body requirements.

Oversee program budget, resources, and scheduling to support effective operation.

Faculty Management

Recruit, hire, train, and supervise nursing faculty and staff.

Facilitate professional development opportunities for faculty.

Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to maintain instructional quality.

Student Support

Advise and support students throughout their academic journey, including admissions, progression, and preparation for licensure.

Address student concerns and foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Program Evaluation and Improvement

Develop and implement assessment tools to evaluate student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.

Analyze data from licensure exam pass rates, student retention, and employer feedback to inform program improvements.

Community and Industry Engagement

Build partnerships with healthcare facilities and organizations for clinical placements and employment opportunities.

Represent the nursing program at community events, professional conferences, and institutional meetings.

Leadership and Strategic Planning

Lead initiatives to enhance the visibility and reputation of the practical nursing program.

Collaborate with institutional leadership on strategic planning and policy development. QualificationsEducation

Minimum of a Master's degree in Nursing (MSN).

Doctoral degree (e.g., DNP, PhD in Nursing) preferred. Experience

Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.

5+ years of clinical nursing experience.

3+ years of experience in nursing education, including teaching and administration. Certifications

Certification in nursing education (e.g., CNE) preferred.

CPR/BLS certification required. Skills

In-depth knowledge of nursing education standards and state licensure requirements.

Strong leadership and organizational skills.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency in using academic and clinical software tools. Personal Attributes
