As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Critical Facilities Engineer to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights.

The CFE is part of an engineering operations team reporting to the Maintenance & Staff Manager. The team is responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency and the utmost levels of reliability. This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues.

The CFE is our front line when it comes to hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting. They are expected to be a singular focal point for all facility operations within a given data center. Data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. This equipment includes, but is not limited to standby diesel generators, related fuel systems, electrical switchgear, universal power supplies, power distribution units, air handler units, fan walls, related thermal management equipment and systems, chemical treatment systems (where applicable), pumps, motors, variable frequency drives, and building automation systems.

Work Schedule: Sunday-Saturday (Shift days will vary) 7AM-7PM; 7PM-7AM

We are currently hiring for:

Mid-Level 2: 3-5 years of experience

Senior Level 3: 6+ years of experience

Please Note: This is not an IT position this is a mechanical and electrical/operations position within a Data Center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Place Safety at the top of anything and everything that they do - without fail.

Focus on the tasks and activities given to them and remain consistently focused on Safety.

Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions of facility systems.

Complete planned and ad-hoc preventive maintenance work assignments, requiring the skill and direction of several electrical, mechanical, maintenance trades and engineering disciplines.

Conduct periodic inspections of building systems (e.g. HVAC, electrical distribution, maintain mechanical equipment rooms/enclosures) to ensure clean, functional, and safe conditions.

Rapid response, investigation and management of indoor emergency situations and air quality complaints, including humidity.

Have a complete working knowledge on creating, closing, and tracking "work requests" (WR). Initiate or respond to work orders, follow-up and verify completion of work.

Monitor performance/note deficiencies of service contractors and recommend changes, as necessary.

Provide applied electrical, mechanical, integrated control and water chemistry technical expertise for the entire data center.

Directly interface with the management team, contractors, and consultants for all phased data center construction commissioning, including integration and testing of new systems while maintaining critical systems online.

Work with stakeholders to track and complete a preventive and predictive maintenance schedule for critical maintenance and system commissioning.

Ensure the data center operates at maximum operational efficiency, including analyzing existing operating conditions, recommending new technologies, and improving overall efficiency and cost reduction.

Responsible for data center white space and back-of-house electrical loading and capacity, including client installations and systems.

This position may require unusual hours of work approximately once every other week to meet critical maintenance windows and scheduling.

Directly manage contractors and consultants for daily operations and critical maintenance (UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and chiller maintenance).

Provide applied electrical, mechanical, integrated control, and technical expertise for the entire data center.

On-call to respond to emergency situations at the data center (as required).

Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or GED equivalent with two years of technical school with an emphasis on mission-critical operations, industrial manufacturing, or relevant military operations experience in electrical and mechanical systems.

Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.

Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.

Willingness and desire to achieve the preferred qualifications below and continue your own professional development. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Two to five years of progressive, hands-on experience in critical, data center operations, maintenance, and engineering within the data center industry.

ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology

Possesses Mechanical and/or Electrical certifications.

Knowledge of industrial safety best practices (i.e., lockout/tag out, arc flash protection, OSHA, and state regulations)

Experience with construction planning, mechanical, systems, building controls, and Life-Safety Systems.

Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (such as ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, and compliance issues).

Demonstrated knowledge of building automation & management (BAS / BMS) systems.

Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM), and power metering systems.

Strong quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills, with the ability to determine event root causes, performance shortfalls, and required corrective actions.

Experience with the development, commissioning, and acceptance of mission critical systems.

Demonstrated, working technical knowledge, and understanding of critical systems within data centers, including HVAC, standby emergency power, uninterruptible power supplies, and associated infrastructure.

Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting large commercial and industrial electrical systems including Medium-voltage switchgear, 480/277 Volt and 208/120-volt, electrical generation and distribution systems, Diesel powered AC generators, Static UPS systems, cell batteries and monitoring systems, static switches, PLC, Power monitoring systems, Data center power distribution and management systems Travel

Limited travel may be required in this position - typically < than 5% annually.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Must be willing to submit to a full criminal background check, the results of which may or may not bar employment, following applicable state and federal laws.

Must be willing to submit to a drug screen, with which results will be interpreted and applied to an employment eligibility determination following applicable state and federal laws. Physical Requirements for all CFE roles:

Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.

Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment

Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments

Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks

Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly

Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.

Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors

Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses

Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables

Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow

Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection

Possession of a valid driver's license for work-related travel, as required
