My client is a Medium Sized Manufacturing Company in their search for an EHS Manager to cover two sites locally. This position will report into the Plant Manager, will work with the Corporate EHS team, and manage a team of 3 employees. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience within a manufacturing setting, union experience, and the ability / personality to implement change successfully within a safety culture. Job Description
Key responsisbilites are
Develop and manage health & safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and root cause investigations.
Implement Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) programs to enhance proactive safety engagement.
Lead safety training on LOTO, machine guarding, confined space entry, PPE, and more.
Oversee safety committees, site audits, and corrective action plans.
Track and report key safety metrics (TRIR, DART, near-miss reporting, etc.).
Manage workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
Ensure compliance with EPA, state, and local environmental regulations.
Oversee hazardous materials handling, waste disposal, and environmental sustainability initiatives.
Drive sustainability efforts to reduce energy consumption and environmental impact. The Successful Applicant
The sucessful EHS candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910, EPA regulations, and state/local environmental laws.
Experience with incident investigations, root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.).
Preferred certifications: CSP, CIH, CHMM, OSHA 30/General Industry.
Excellent leadership, communication, and training skills.
Ability to drive change, engage employees, and manage multiple projects across two sites. What's on Offer
