Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Helpdesk Technician to join our IT support team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional technical assistance and support to users, ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. This role requires strong communication skills, a thorough understanding of desktop support, and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot software and hardware issues effectively.
Duties
Provide first-level support for technical issues related to operating systems, software applications, and hardware.
Communicate effectively with users to understand their problems and provide timely solutions.
Analyze issues reported by users and determine appropriate resolutions or escalate as necessary.
Perform desktop support tasks, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems.
Manage firewall settings and ensure network security protocols are adhered to.
Utilize Jira for tracking support tickets and managing workflow efficiently.
Assist in maintaining Group Policy Objects (GPO) to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Collaborate with other IT team members to improve overall service delivery and user satisfaction.
Qualifications
Proficiency in troubleshooting various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components including networking, servers, and security protocols.
Experience with desktop support in an office environment is preferred.
Ability to analyze technical problems and develop effective solutions quickly.
Familiarity with firewall management and network security practices is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively assist users at all levels.
Prior experience using Jira or similar ticketing systems is advantageous.
A proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and improving existing processes.
