Our dynamic and evolutionary client is seeking to contract a highly capable and motivated Plant Integration Engineer - Plant Layout/3D Model focused on the integration, oversight, and coordination of plant systems, structures, and components (SSCs) and development of conceptual plant 3D models to support our client's product development.
In this role, you will support, and report to, our client's Plant Design Manager and support development of the project plant BIM 3D model and conceptual commercial plant arrangements. The Plant Layout 3D model includes all major physical design elements of the Plant, including building structures, major equipment, piping and electrical runs, HVAC, and overall site arrangement.
The successful candidate will support coordination between the design engineers working on systems, structures and components of the Plant, and the physical modeling teams to integrate ongoing engineering work and the Plant Layout 3D model. The Plant Integration Engineer - Plant Layout/3D Model will also support conceptual plant 3D model development to respond to customer RFQs and RFIs

Responsibilities
Provide integration leadership and oversight to geographically diverse team members to develop the 3D plant model and associated drawings
Support development of plant conceptual 3D model arrangements to respond to customer inquiries
Manage the strategy for smart phased population of the model over time, based on the active design phase and with the goal of minimizing rework
Work closely with system leads and partner organizations to coordinate integration between the Plant 3D model and project design products, including Solidworks models, component drawings and specifications, and system requirements
Work closely with client partners or Architect/Engineer firm(s) to establish and control interfaces to plant systems and structures
Support development of documentation and relevant procedures for modeling work and plant design integration
Manage plant arrangement risks such as space envelope reservations, maintenance and testing requirements, construction considerations, maintenance pull space, etc.
Coordinate with other design groups and system lead engineers to ensure the design and model is consistent across interfacing systems
Provide technical support to plant model development and design integration using project collaboration and design tools.
Coordinate with client's commercial development team to develop design solutions for greenfield project plant sites.
Requirements
The successful candidate will display leadership skills by helping the project team strategically plan the progression of model updates as well as track key design inputs to the 3D model while formal design documents are being developed.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant design experience in providing oversight and/or development of 3D model for complex industrial design with preference for steam and power and/or nuclear design.
Must be proficient in 3D plant modeling tools, such as AVEVA, SmartPlant, or Revit; SmartPlant experience preferred.
Qualifications
The candidate must be team-oriented, and able to work effectively with geographically distributed team members.
Experience in working with a 3D plant model in a hosting or workshare environment between multiple companies or sites is desirable.
Possess project management skills enabling coordination of model updates across multiple organizations to meet schedule needs, and to manage any subcontracts associated with modeling work.
Strong communication skills and be able to provide leadership in presenting 3D model content to senior management, the engineering team, customers etc.
Ability to work in a conceptual design environment effectively where design assumptions must be made.
Experience working to quality standards on design activities, such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001.
The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, able to communicate openly, and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.
Estimated Compensation Range: $65.00 - $95.00 per hour. This range represents the estimated low end and high end of the compensation range for this position. All experience levels considered.
