Job Summary:
The Data Systems Manager is responsible for overseeing the integrity, compliance, and efficient operation of various data management systems within the organization. This role ensures that student, staff, and operational data is accurately maintained, analyzed, and reported in compliance with federal, state, and internal regulations. The Manager will supervise Data Techs, streamline data processes, and provide insights through advanced data analysis to inform organizational decision-making and improve outcomes for children, families, and staff.
Essential job functions
Education: Ensure implementation and compliance with all Early Head Start (EHS), Quality Preschool Initiative (QPI), California State Preschool Program (CSPP), and General Child Care and Development (CCTR) education requirements. Support and train teachers on all policies and procedures relating to program compliance. Monitor and ensure a high quality of delivery for all areas listed below and ensure a Tier 5 QRIS ratings at your program site.
Data Integrity & Compliance: Ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance in all data systems, including but not limited to Student Demographics, Staff and Student Attendance, Enrollment, ASQ, DRDP, Health, Mental Health, Disabilities, and Community Referrals.
Data Management Oversight: Supervise Data Techs to enforce best practices for data input, system monitoring, and maintaining high-quality data integrity. Regularly review and refine data management procedures for continuous improvement.
Reporting & Deadlines: Oversee and monitor compliance with all reporting requirements and ensure adherence to weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deadlines across departments.
Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of data trends to provide actionable insights to leadership on educational, health, enrollment, mental health, and family engagement outcomes. Use advanced data analysis techniques to identify patterns, assess program impact, and inform operational improvements.
Impact Reporting: Compile and analyze data for annual reports, including Economic Impact Reports, In-Service trainings, and Program Self-Evaluation. Support the tracking and presentation of impact data to stakeholders.
Standard Operating Procedures: Create, maintain, and update data management Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal requirements.
Data Systems Alignment: Enter, maintain, and align data across all operational systems, ensuring consistency and accuracy across the organization.
Training and Support: Train staff on the use of data management systems (e.g. DRDP, Learning Genie, ASQ-3, ASQ-SE) and stay up to date with emerging technologies such as AI tools and data analytics platforms.
Data Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyze detailed data reports, using advanced data visualization techniques to present findings to leadership and inform strategic decisions.
Compliance & Monitoring: Monitor compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and internal policies, attending relevant training and contract provider meetings to stay informed of current requirements.
Technology Integration: Lead efforts to incorporate evolving technologies, such as AI, to streamline data processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and optimize system performance. Requirements
BA or MA in Data Analysis, Computer Science or related field.
Preference - Experience and understanding of Early Childhood Education or a related field
Minimum of 1+ year experience with Educational Operating Systems (CareConnect, Child Plus, DRDP Online, or equivalent database system)
Minimum 3+ years' experience with Data Analytics and Analysis Physical Requirements
Ability to work at various locations, as needed
Ability to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods of time
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds to support children
Ability to bend and squat to interact with children
Salary Description
$75,000-$85,000
