The Data Center Engineer Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operational efficiency of critical infrastructure systems within a data center. This role involves performing advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems, as well as supervising and mentoring a team of technicians to ensure continuous and reliable operation.
Shift - Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm
Salary Range: $95,000 - $105,000 (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
Vendor Management : Schedule, complete site walkthroughs, review proposals for corrective maintenance activities to ensure availability and site up time.
Maintenance and Repairs: Execute complex preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems, including generators, UPS systems, cooling units, and fire suppression systems.
Monitoring Systems: Utilize building management systems (BMS) and other monitoring tools to track system performance, respond to alarms, and take corrective actions as needed.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, system performance, and any incidents or repairs performed.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Supervision and Mentorship: Lead and supervise a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to standards. Mentor junior technicians to develop their skills and knowledge.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, facility managers, and other stakeholders to coordinate maintenance activities and share critical information.
Emergency Response: Be available for on-call duties and respond to emergencies, including power outages, equipment failures, and other critical incidents.
Project Management: Oversee and manage projects related to system upgrades, expansions, and new installations. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electrical, mechanical, or HVAC systems preferred.
7+ years of experience in a similar role within the data center industry.
Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems, including the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proven leadership and supervisory skills, with experience managing and mentoring a team of technicians.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively document activities and communicate with team members.
