Overview
Navitas is ready to invest in you! We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer that will work closely with Navitas Purchasing and Manufacturing teams to ensure supplier quality. This is a working engineering role that includes team leadership, regular interaction with suppliers, and implementation of the Navitas quality policy with respect to our products and services.
Responsibilities
Uphold and enforce the Navitas Quality Policy, Supplier Quality Manual, and Quality Management System
Responsible for suppliers' quality performance; work with suppliers to correct any non-conformances
Travel to domestic and international suppliers up to 50% of the time
Maintain Supplier Quality Processes including tracking of returns and driving supplier corrective actions
Work with suppliers to develop consistent product delivery with reduced variation
Maintain Supplier Scorecard and communicate scores to supplier representatives and Navitas management
Work with the Engineering Team and suppliers to develop and implement Engineering Change Requests
Report on supplier quality performance
Perform and/or coordinate sorting activities at Navitas to protect MFG from defects caused by suppliers
Coordinate pre-launch supplier quality development in coordination with Purchasing
Participate in the development and maintenance of FMEA's and Control Plans
Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and other departments to resolve customer complaints and concerns related to supplied products
Drive PPM improvement plan for strategic suppliers
Ensure daily 5S of workstation (maintain clean and organized work areas)
Practice safe work habits and report unsafe conditions to leadership
Ensure punctuality, reliability, and acceptable attendance
Follow Company Policies and Quality System Processes
Other duties as assigned by management Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required
2+ years of quality experience, preferably with supplier quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Battery manufacturing experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be comfortable supporting US-military funded work and building products for military testing and use
Communication - communicate effectively with cross-functional work groups including suppliers, customers, and associates, both verbally and in writing; excellent listening skills
Organization & Planning - manage time wisely and effectively prioritize multiple competing tasks
Problem Solving & Decision Making - identify and solve problems, develop innovative solutions, act decisively, and show good judgment
Team Player - respond to requests from other parts of the organization and support organizational goals
Computer Skills - in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office required; experience with other quality software applications beneficial (e.g. statistical analysis software)
Travel to domestic and international suppliers up to 50% of the time ITAR REQUIREMENTS: To conform to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) the individual must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
