Description

The primary function of this position is to manage daily transportation operations at the terminal facility, ensuring efficient and safe logistics processes. This role involves coordinating driver assignments, overseeing freight movement, maintaining compliance with transportation regulations, and supporting operational excellence.

Oversee and coordinate daily terminal operations, including dispatching drivers and managing delivery schedules.

Establish relationships with drivers, addressing their needs, interests, and operational concerns.

Monitor Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to track shipments, optimize routing, and ensure timely deliveries.

Serve as the primary contact for drivers, addressing operational concerns, route changes, and safety issues.

Conduct regular safety and compliance meetings to reinforce company policies and regulatory adherence.

Support customer service efforts by resolving shipping and delivery issues, maintaining strong client relationships.

Maintain accurate records of shipments, driver schedules, and compliance documentation.

Ensure proper maintenance and safety of fleet equipment, coordinating repairs as needed.

Communicate effectively with upper management regarding operational challenges and process improvements.

Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.

Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements

Seeking an individual who has:

Knowledge of DOT regulations and industry safety standards.

Experience in dispatching, routing, and fleet management preferred.

A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and coach staff.

Ability to work collaboratively with drivers, staff, and external partners.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

A business, logistics, or related field degree is preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or terminal operations. Physical Demands:

Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods continuously.

Ability to talk, hear, and see continuously.

Ability to lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs.

Ability to travel as required.
