Assistant Director of Nursing
A local government entity that provides public services and infrastructure to the residents of a specific geographic region is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing to join our dynamic healthcare team.
Job Summary:
As the Assistant Director of Nursing, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and supporting the nursing operations within our healthcare organization. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for assisting in the management and supervision of our nursing staff, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and best practices
- Provide clinical oversight and guidance to nursing staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nursing assistants
- Monitor and evaluate nursing staff performance, providing feedback and coaching to ensure continuous improvement
- Assist in the coordination of nursing schedules, staffing, and resource allocation to meet patient care needs
- Participate in the recruitment, training, and professional development of nursing personnel
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for nursing-related issues, questions, and concerns
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, standards, and accreditation requirements
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license with a minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing experience
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field (Master's degree preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or management role within a nursing or healthcare setting
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in the use of electronic medical records and nursing informatics
- Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making abilities
- Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care
Working Conditions:
This position is based in a nursing home environment, with a mix of office and clinical work. The schedule may include regular weekday hours, as well as some evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure continuous patient care. The role may involve physical demands such as standing for extended periods, light lifting, and assisting with patient transfers.
