Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics and Engineering

The Department of Physics and Engineering Science in the Gupta College of Science at Coastal

Carolina University invites applications for one visiting non-tenure track position at the Visiting

Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2025 in support of its Applied Physics and Physics

Education programs. This is a 9-month position paid out over 12 months and is renewable on an

annual basis for up to a total of 3 years, depending on department needs and available funds.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Physics, Physics Education, or a closely related field by the time

of appointment and be comfortable teaching courses in the areas of conceptual physics, algebra based and calculus-based university physics. Special preference will be given to applicants with

interdisciplinary qualifications or experience.

As part of a successful interview process, candidates will be expected to provide a demonstration

of teaching effectiveness that highlights active learning.
