Service Awards SCOPE:

Responsible for helping to ensure Smith & Wesson's compliance with all applicable Health and Safety regulations and requirements. Provides direct supervisory oversight to the Medical Staff located in Springfield facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures compliance with all applicable H&S regulations and requirements for the Springfield location

Ensures compliance with all Smith & Wesson self-prescribed EH&S policies and procedures for the Springfield location

Assist in obtaining all EH&S goals as set forth by the EH&S Director and the execute leadership team

Work with the EH&S Director to develop staff and operation specific objectives to manage near misses, first-aids and recordable cases at the site level

Manage the Medical Department in Springfield and provide medical case management

Manage and ensure regulatory and program compliance of medical surveillance programs including (lead, hearing conservation, asbestos, respiratory protection) and the communication of results at the Springfield locations; ensure program compliance across the remote locations

Assist with medical case management and workers' compensation activity coordination efforts

Lead site level incident/accident investigations and associated root cause analyses; delegate to staff as appropriate and assist and manage at the remote locations

Support various H&S communications as directed

Assist in and support the development of various EH&S work instructions, policies and procedures as directed.

Support EH&S responses to concerns raised by employees

Conduct and support EH&S audits as requested

Other activities as requested

Manage the Drug Screening program amongst all stakeholders across all locations to ensure consistency of testing, process, communication and results.

Serve as the company's Radiation and Back-up Laser Safety Officer (i.e. conduct all activities in accordance with all legal and other requirements) EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental Science or 10 years of EH&S experience with a preference for heavier safety experience in a manufacturing environment.

Proven ability to identify, investigate, correct, and document potential environmental, health and safety non-conformances.

Problem solving skills.

Strong advocate for change with a bias for action.

Ability to complete projects as assigned in a timely manner. LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal communications PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Occasional: bending, kneeling, squatting, standing, walking, reaching, overhead reaching, and fine motor skills.

Maximum lifting: to 30 pounds

Frequent lifting: 5 to 20 pounds

Occasional lifting: 20 to 30 pounds.

All employees are required to apply ergonomic correctness to all job tasks. WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Normal office environment and office lighting

The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in anther department, this includes but is not limited to safety glasses (ANSI approved), hearing protection, and safety shoes.

Within the Smith & Wesson manufacturing facility employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting
