Provide technical support to manufacturing locations through process related problem solving, process improvements and cost reduction programs, and the development and implementation of improved formulations, methods, equipment and associated technology, new product launches and new plant startups.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for the daily process operations.
Develop formulations and pour patterns to meet production specifications
Prepare and analyze technical reports.
Support, coordinate and assist in sampling activities.
Liaison with maintenance and production to solve process equipment problems and address production concerns.
Plan and execute process improvement experiments.
Optimize raw material usage and minimize waste.
Participate in health & safety and quality audit process.
Write and update SOPS, SOTS, procedures, etc.
Interface with customers, suppliers and other plants in respect to process related quality concerns.
Ensure good communication across shifts, departments.
Occasional travel to other locations for process/quality improvements.
Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators and implement corrective actions to meet or exceed KPI targets.
Understand lean manufacturing principles such as VSM, 5S and Kaizens, and participate in problem solving activities and projects within department.
Required to work various shifts.
Other duties as required. Skills & Knowledge Required
Must have 2+ years' experience in a Molded Foam operation that has MFS, RFS, RTES/Wonderware.
Knowledge of SPC and automotive quality standards, statistical experiments, ladder logic, metering pumps, drives, sensors and transducers, control theory, hydraulics, pneumatic are assets.
Computer skills, such as AutoCAD, Windows, spreadsheets, databases and word processing software. Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from four year college or university; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Demands
