Job Title: Intermediate/Junior High School Principal

Location: Harmony Intermediate/ Emge Jr. High, Belleville, IL

Position Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Contract

Start Date: July 1, 2025

Overview:

Harmony-Emge SD #175, a dynamic and student-centered learning community, is seeking an experienced and passionate Intermediate/Junior High School Principal to lead our grades 4-8 academically rigorous environment that supports student growth and teacher excellence.

Responsibilities:

Provide visionary leadership and oversight of daily school operations.

Promote a positive, inclusive school culture that supports academic achievement and social-emotional development.

Supervise and evaluate certified and classified staff, promoting ongoing professional development.

Oversee curriculum implementation and ensure alignment with district and state standards.

Communicate effectively with students, staff, families, and the broader school community.

Manage school budget, resources, and scheduling.

Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment, including enforcing disciplinary policies.

Collaborate with district leadership and community partners. Qualifications:

Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field.

Valid Illinois Principal Certification (or eligibility).

Minimum of 3 years teaching experience, preferably at the middle or junior high level.

3 years prior administrative or leadership experience.

Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to equity, innovation, and continuous school improvement. Compensation:

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, following district guidelines. $80,000 -$100,000 base salary depending on experience, plus 100% TRS and Board-paid benefits (Health, Life, Dental). Final package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
