Kforce has a client that is seeking a Splunk Administrator in Raleigh, NC.
Summary: The client is seeking an engineer with a systems administration background to serve as a DevOps Engineer.
In this role, you will work with other technical and non-technical leaders.
You will become a member of the Developer Enablement group - a small, agile team focused on fostering DevOps culture and facilitating continuous integration and delivery across the client's global enterprise IT organization.
As a DevOps Engineer, you will develop, communicate, and exercise a working knowledge of what it takes for DevOps to be successful, engaging, and fun in an enterprise IT environment.
This role will join the monitoring and logging team in the developer and enablement area in IT.
They will assist with completing the maintenance of Splunk and other monitoring tools.
Responsibilities: * Work on a highly scalable and available centralized logging platform (MLS-P) comprised of Splunk and other platforms * Work extensively on automation of distributed clusters, data pipelines, application onboarding, etc.
the following Infrastructure as code (IaC) principles * Contribute to deliverables as an SME in Splunk platform * Develop, integrate, and automate platform modules/workflows * Triage and work on highly complex issues with broad technical or strategic implications with Splunk * Drive issue resolution and root cause analysis and report communications back to stakeholders * Document and train others on processes, best practices, and tooling * Coordinate with project management for the completion of stories in the Agile methodology * Translate backlog items into engineering design and logical units of work or tasks* Experienced in Splunk (must have), and Ansible; Splunk experience must have administration experience with Splunk; Application knowledge of Splunk is necessary to complete search indexes * Experience with aggregation and management tools (Loggly, Logstash, Sumo logic or Splunk) * Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Splunk (or any of the following Stackdriver, Cloudwatch, Sensu, NewRelic) * Power-user of Linux environment, and strong scripting skills in Python * Experience with revision control source code repositories (Git) and automated testing tools (i.e., Selenium, JMeter) * Experience in Agile Scrum teams (i.e., JIRA/Confluence, Rally) * Basic experience deploying systems on Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), especially AWS Nice to have: * Basic experience deploying applications on Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), especially OpenShift
