Our strategic partnership is designed to combine the strengths and expertise of both companies to advance the promise of an immunotherapy in the treatment of multiple myeloma.

Legend Biotech is seeking a Senior Accountant as part of the Finance team based in Somerset, NJ.

Role Overview

A Senior Accountant will oversee the accounting functions for a Legend entity, with a primary focus on Payroll, Treasury and comprehensive Financial Reporting. This position requires close collaboration with the Legend Financial Reporting Team, Treasury, Payroll, Accounts Payables, and FP&A teams. Additionally, the role includes providing accounting support for other Legend operating entities as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Accounting and Reporting: Prepare journal entries, variance analysis, and create operating entity reporting packages. Ensure timely completion of the month-end close activities and the related deliverables in compliance with the month-end reporting calendar.

Month-End Analysis: Prepare month-end reports for submission to the Legend Reporting Team. Analyze financial data and explain fluctuations for the balance sheet and income statement.

Payroll and Prepayments: Record, reconcile, and manage payroll and prepayments.

Intercompany Transactions: Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations.

Account Reconciliations: Prepare account reconciliations on a timely basis, ensuring they meet SOX requirements.

Continuous Improvement: Initiate continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency and respond to changes in the business environment.

Internal controls: Maintain internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with SOX requirements.

Audit Cooperation: Cooperate with external and internal auditors, timely deliver the financial information to third parties and regulators when necessary.

Ad Hoc Requests: Address ad hoc requests as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance is required

CPA License/Certification is a plus

4+ years of experience in accounting function in the biopharmaceutical/ medical devices industry or large corporation

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, experience with SAP is preferred

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Cooperation and collaboration spirit

Fluent oral communication, reading and writing skill in English

Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members.

Strength in communicating and working independently and effectively with broad stakeholders

Process-oriented with strong analytical skills for risk identification and management

The anticipated base pay range for this is: $66,063 - $90,836 USD.
