Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 2 yrs. exp. as group or project leader or supervisor providing work direction & training to employees engaged in engineering projects or 2 yrs. exp. in managing engineering research projects (i.e., managing research projects applies only to staff specialist positions); if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license.

-Or licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 3, 85643; if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration.

What You Will Do:

Management of the structural steel program.

Management of QPL/APL with Laboratory staff.

Review of shop drawings and make decisions for steel fabrication.

Work with Districts and Industry with regards to steel products.

Visit facilities and projects to assist with District/contractor needs.

Able to communicate clearly and effectively with ODOT partners.

Self-motivated and able to complete tasks on their own.

Detail oriented with review of plans and shop drawings.

Knowledgeable with regards to structural steel related materials and welding applications.
