Location: San Antonio, TX. Remote work possible from Houston if able to travel to San Antonio weekly.
Travel: The Technical Lead will serve a customer base mainly in the San Antonio area, but there will be roughly two monthly overnight customer visits required outside of San Antonio. If based remotely in Houston, there will be travel required to San Antonio for those customers as well.
Responsibilities:
This role is blended between functional and technical skillsets. In this role, you will be tasked with billable programming, but also responsible for direct reports and customer interfacing.
Lead engineering, design and commissioning of automation and SCADA systems including databases and database interfaces, data analytics and reporting, scripting (Python, VB, etc.) and general programming
Execute the full SCADA development lifecycle from requirements definition through implementation, manual and automated testing, deployment and commissioning for thin-clients, web and mobile users.
Integrate and manage SCADA database systems to historians (OSIsoft PI, Canary, etc.), measurement/accounting systems (FlowCal, PGAS, etc.), Leak Detection Systems (ATMOS, Emerson PLM, etc.) GIS, and other business intelligence systems for custom reporting and data analytics (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
Coordinate integration of SCADA system from edge to cloud using communication hardware and industrial networking platforms securely and coupling them with greater data transmission efficiency through protocols like MQTT
Provides project lifecycle leadership and expertise for SCADA projects to include project scope, cost, schedule, estimating, and progress measurement and change management.
Participate in kick-off meetings with the Project Manager / Sales to ensure understanding of scope, cost, schedule, and execution strategy.
Monitor adherence to project schedule and budgets throughout project execution and report progress and status of all aspects to Project Manager.
Aides in the procurement process by creating Bill of Materials (BOM), preparing Request for Quote (RFQ), reviewing vendor quotes and delivery schedules and approving vendor invoices.
Coordinates facility and well pad automation project work to be done by the assigned field support team.
Plans and implements Factory Acceptance tests with customers, including required documentation.
Plans and implements field automation solution commissioning activities, including Customer Acceptance Test.
Supervise assigned Project Engineer on their tasks and ensures timely delivery of assigned projects.
Facilitate internal and client meetings to review and update project status.
Assist business development team in the proposal process by proposing suitable automation solution and preparing equipment and service cost estimates.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with Industrial Control and Automation Projects
SCADA experience
Experience with programming HMIs
Knowledge of ODBC, Data analysis, SQL, communication protocols and networking
Experience programming in Python, C#,VB or JAVA
EIT certified engineer preferred
Required skills in specific disciplines such as PLC, HMI, SCADA, and AutoCAD
Panel Design and Construction experience required
Ability to work with engineering and automation enabling software packages a plus
Microsoft Office experience required
Strong understanding of HSE processes and procedures
Behave in a professional and ethical manner.
Must complete all Company required safety trainings.
Must be able to professionally communicate with employees, managers, customers and vendors
Physical Requirements:

Work Environment:
Office is well-lit, heated, and/or air-conditioned modern office setting with adequate ventilation.
Field work duties will have exposure to the elements, including heat, sun, rain, wind, cold, snow and slippery conditions.
