Description
SUMMARY:
The primary role of an Extrusion Technician is to setup/operate/troubleshoot equipment using established processes for the manufacture of medical components. This person could work with manufacturing personnel, maintenance, quality assurance and technical teams.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Setup/Operate/Troubleshoot production machinery such as Thermoplastic Extruders and line supporting equipment.
• Documenting activities accurately and completely
• Following sequences of operations in performing techniques such as cleaning, equipment setups, cutting, inspection, and packing.
• All around use of arithmetic, measuring/inspections with dial or digital devices (calipers, micrometers, toolmaker microscope).
• Ability to read/understand drawings and process specifications.
• Working with (and near) inks, isopropyl alcohol, and other manufacturing-related liquids
• Complying with FDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), general safety and manufacturing procedures, and company practices and policies
• Ability to read, comprehend and communicate in English.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in plastic extrusion, injection molding or related experience.
• Computer skills required: Inventory Software; Microsoft Office
• Other skills required: Mechanically inclined, detail oriented, basic math skills
