Job Description

Statement of Purpose: The Production Scheduler is responsible for creating and managing daily and weekly production schedules that align with customer demand, inventory levels, and plant capacity. This role ensures the efficient flow of materials, optimal use of labor and equipment, and compliance with food safety and quality standards. The scheduler works closely with operations, procurement, quality assurance, and logistics teams to minimize waste, reduce downtime, and support on-time delivery of safe, high-quality food products.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Set daily production schedule from raw process through finish, working with facility management to manage plant and employee hours adjusting schedule throughout the day to accommodate for machinery breakdown, raw material and supply delays

Track process flow from incoming raw through finished product to enable accurate communication on production flow abilities

Plan and communicate to the purchasing manager the exact type and quantities of raw materials needed to accurately fill orders

Analyze production quantities and order changes, looking at production schedule to decide if change can be accommodated in production flow, then communicate with customer what production can accomplish

Plan raw material needs and communicate with shipping department so ensure needed raw materials are available for use when production on product needs to begin

Analyze line production to better plan flow of scheduling to accommodate variations in products and line requirements

Other duties as assigned

COMPETENCIES AND KNOWLEDGE

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Strong knowledge of excel, word and other databases. Experience with cloud-based software a plus (e.g. QAD) is preferred

· Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

· Willingness to be flexible to changes in production

· Ability to multitask and meet changing deadlines

· Must be self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervision

· Ability to manage confidential information

· Working knowledge of email, scheduling, spreadsheets and other office administration software

· Punctual and reliable

· Collaborates effectively with other internal resources, as well as external resources

· Able to build effective relationships with customers and production management

· Spanish bi-lingual skill preferred
