Job Description
We are seeking a 1st shift Material Handler to join our team!
The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of raw materials, finished products, and supplies within the manufacturing facility. This includes receiving, storing, and distributing materials, supporting production operations, and maintaining inventory accuracy. The position requires the use of various handling equipment, adherence to safety protocols, and strong organizational skills.
*Duties & Responsibilities:

Transport raw materials to designated workstations and storage areas using forklifts, combi-lifts, other equipment or by hand when needed.
Move finished products to designated storage or shipping areas as needed.
Ensure proper stacking, labeling, and storage of materials in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Receipt of the material in business software (CSI), same day entry.
Monitor inventory levels of materials and report shortages to supervisors.
Record material movement and update inventory management systems, attention to detail is critical.
Unload incoming shipments, inspect materials for quality and accuracy, and match shipments to paperwork.
Assist with loading and unloading trucks when requested.
Supply production lines with materials as needed to minimize downtime in an expedient and safe manner, high sense of urgency.
Assist in managing scrap metal and ensure its proper handling and disposal.
Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to optimize material flow and workspace organization.
Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operation of material handling equipment.
Report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or quality concerns to the supervisor immediately.
Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts and other handling equipment, reporting any issues.
All other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
· Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification may be required).
· Experience handling long material up to 50ft
· Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
* Physical ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and work in a manufacturing environment
· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Must be collaborative with the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
· Must possess a sense of urgency.
· Experience in a metal fabrication environment.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Strong behavior towards safety and safe behavior
· Must be able to work 40 hours per week plus overtime when needed.
· Must be able to continuously get off and on the forklifts and combi-lifts to move or organize material by hand
Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma or equivalent. Certifications in material handling equipment preferred
· Minimum 2 years material handling experience with oversized materials
· Forklift operator experience is a plus.
· Overhead Crane operator is a plus.
· Experience working in a team-oriented, fast-paced, environment.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting, Lifting and walking.
