Job Description

The Administrator is a Registered Nurse (RN) who ensures quality and safe delivery of home health care services; coordinates services that reflect the Agency's philosophy and standards of care; and plans, develops, implements and evaluates Agency services, programs and activities. The Administrator shall represent the Governing Body in the daily operation of the Agency and supervises home health services to homebound patients in their place of residence in accordance with attending physician orders and plans of care and strives to provide the highest quality of care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Registered by the state of Nevada where currently practicing as a Registered Nurse (RN).

2. Three to five years of experience in home health care, REQUIRED.

3. Two years experience in a supervisory position, REQUIRED.

4. Has training and experience in health services administration and at least two (2) years of supervisory or administrative experience in home health care or related health program.

5. Demonstrated ability in or application of organizational/communication skills.

2RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Organizes and directs the Agency’s ongoing liaison among the Governing Body, Professional Advisory Committee and staff by holding periodic meetings.

2. Assuring the development of qualifications for professional services and the assignment of personnel

3. Ensures the accuracy of public information materials and activities.

4. Shares copies of philosophy with all employees.

5. Consistently follows and enforces Agency policies and procedures to set an example for employees.

6. Reviews Agency manuals once per year for completeness.

7. Assesses employees on an ongoing basis to ascertain their understanding of policies and procedures.

8. Assists employees to support policies and achieve necessary changes.

9. Maintains two way communication with employees and fair administration of personnel policies.

10. Disciplines employees as necessary; documents employee problems in personnel files.

11. Directs the Agency's ongoing functions.

12. Monitors budget hours and does not exceed allowance each year.

13. Monitors equipment abuse and takes steps to keep it to a minimum.

14. Evaluates effectiveness and efficiency of the Agency.

15. Uses statistical data to determine quality and quantity of services.

16. Maintains compliance with applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations.

17. Supervises all business affairs.

18. Develops and implements an accounting and reporting system that reflects the fiscal experience and financial position of the Agency.

19. Develops, implements and evaluates financial policies and procedures and records.

20. Develops, implements and evaluates budget plan and cost control policies and procedures; assures accuracy for billing procedures.

21. Participates in developing standards which ensure safe and therapeutically effective service to patients and families. Has joint responsibility with the Administrator for seeing that standards are met.

22. Has joint responsibility with Administrator with development and revision of written objectives for the care of patients, policies and procedure manuals.

23. Is responsible for seeing that objectives are implemented.

24. Has joint responsibility with Clinical Manager in recruiting, hiring, evaluating and terminating service personnel.

25. Participates/collaborates with Clinical Manager in planning for the orientation of new employees. Conducts selected orientation and continuing education classes for staff engaged in the care of patients.

26. Plans and arranges for consultation needs of staff; prepares and maintains current policies and procedures which meet Medicare, state, etc. laws and implements such; revises concurrently.

27. Displays a willingness to support the policies and procedures and uses appropriate channels for change of such policies; establishes criteria and procedures for selection, promotion and termination of employment of service personnel.

28. Assist in the development of job descriptions; coordinates interdisciplinary team services: Assures ongoing assessment of patient/family needs and implementation of interdisciplinary team plan of care in conjunction with Clinical Manager. Assures physician approval of plans for continuity of medical care. Provides individual or group support concerning job related stress or issues.

29. Organizes the Agency to delineate and delegate authority, functional responsibility, lines of relationship and communication to provide safe and therapeutically effective service.

30. Participates in coordinating Agency's services with services of other community agencies including acceptance and coordination of referrals.Company Description
